This was the second round of the Scottish forest rally championship being held in the southern forests of the giant keilder forest. The event includes 44 miles of forestry commission tracks and with only 5 stages all of approx the same mileage.
After the previous successful debut on the snowman rally first round of the Scottish forest rally championship attaining a group n win (for production cars) and 9th overall in the Scottish championship this second round was hopefully going consolidate their lead in the championship.

The event started in Jedburgh outside the town hall where scrutineering was held in a large marquee erected outside the town hall where the cars were subjected to a thorough safety check and to see that they are built to the manufactures and MSA rallying regulations.
Andrew and the team arriving at 7.00pm and completing the scrutineering and paperwork before a well earned meal and early night was taken. The event is also a round of the historic championship which comprise mainly of 2 wheel drive vehicles which run at the head of the field.
The cars left the start to a cool frosty morning and drove the 20 miles down to the first stage which was where Andrew and Phil had their last accident here in 2011 where they rolled their car only 1 mile into the stage. This time they faired better and achieved a 10th fastest stage time and first group‘N’ which was to be the precedent for the remaining even though there was thick snow in the stage.
Four more stages were driven with 10th fastest on stage 2. 9th fastest on stage 3.7th on stage 4 and 6th fastest on stage 5, which brought the crew home in 6th position out of a field of 95 cars and also brought group ‘N’ honours by over 1 minute to now lead the group ‘N’ Scottish rally championship.
